This will be a continuation of our commemoration of the start of the Korean War. Gerry will speak on the Memorial itself putting context into the elements of the cenotaph and a little of the history.

Gerard Parker is a native of Boston and a graduate of Boston College. He served as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966, including a tour in Vietnam as a rifle company executive officer. Upon completion of his active service, he attended graduate school at l’Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and then worked in London for the international trade exhibition company The Montgomery Group, Ltd. After that he went on to an entrepreneurial career in international marketing, producing import-export trade events in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Gerry has served as Executive Director of the Korean War Memorial Foundation since February 2013. He is the father of two daughters and has a grandson and a granddaughter.
