RDML Mike Baker, MC, USN (Ret)
We are an organization dedicated to honoring and sharing the history of the maritime services, but it is a rare occasion that we get the opportunity to focus on history in the making. Such an opportunity is being presented to us when Rear Admiral Mike Baker, MC, USN (Ret) joins us after his 5th tour teaching in Ukraine.
RDML Baker teaches Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) to civilian and military doctors and Stop the Bleed (StB) to non-physicians. The goal is to improve the care of injured patients during the first critical minutes after wounding in order to improve survival. In his presentation, he will review some history and geography of Central Europe/Ukraine, explain the course he teaches, and give his insight into morale and conditions in Ukraine during this conflict. He will also explain where he perceives how this conflict in Ukraine relates to other problem regions.
As we expect the turnout to be larger than usual, we ask you to please respond to Senior Chief Hansen to let us know that you plan to attend with whatever guests you would like to invite. We need you to respond soon, however, as we need to give a preliminary count to the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club.
So, please plan to join us for our Monthly Luncheon at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. As usual, the bar opens at 1100 and the Program starts at noon. RDML Baker has asked for 40 minutes for his presentation, so we will start the presentation a bit earlier than usual.
Validated parking is available at the garage at 721 Filbert St near the IAC and public parking near the police station at 735 Vallejo and 766 Vallejo at Stockton (near Powell).
