The horrific Bataan Death March is more than an event in history books for some companions. Cecilia Gaerlan will share with us her story on the 82nd Anniversary of the Bataan Death March. We will be joined by Chuck Sheeley, formerly of the Monterey Commandery and now part of the San Francisco Commandery, whose father was on the Bataan Death March and later was aboard two of the Hell Ships that Japan used to ferry POWs. Chuck will share his father’s story at a later date. Past commandery member Sandy Lockwood and current companion Bob Hansen had family member who survived. The situation with the "Hell Ships" may not be as well known but was just as horrible.

Guests are welcome, and no RSVP is required. (Please advise us of any special guests so that we can properly introduce them.) Discounted parking is available at the garage at 721 Filbert, just on the other side of Columbus Avenue. As usual, Social Hour begins at 1100 when the bar opens. The Program begins at noon.
