This year’s theme is the 100th Anniversary of the San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD). Our only off-site event will be an MCRD graduation ceremony and lunch at the Officer’s Club on Friday where we will present the Distinguished Sea Service Award for Senior Enlisted to SgtMaj Mario Marquez. This will be followed by a tour of the USS Midway Museum. Driver’s License information is mandatory for entrance onto MCRD.

For those of you want to visit the Navy Exchange at 32nd Street or venture anywhere on your own, transportation in and around San Diego’s myriad attractions by tram is easy. The hotel concierge will be happy to answer your questions and provide you with information on how to get to your desired destination.

The Trolley from the hotel provides access to San Diego’s Top Attractions including Old Town the historic Gaslight District and for the hardy travelers to the Mexican Border San Ysidro stop. The hotel is connected to the Hazard Valley Center shops and restaurants and just one Trolley stop to the Mission Valley Fashion Mall with high end shopping and restaurants.

As an added option there is a Disney Magic Ship four day cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada beginning on Sunday afternoon from the downtown pier. Following the Congress, AMTRAK train [The Coaster] is available from downtown to Los Angeles and Hollywood.
